Mary Carey, the Saga Continues…
My friend Heather sent me a link today to lukeisback.com and I went to check it out. The site design was really simple and I probably wouldn’t have stayed on a regular day, but Heather had assured me that the news he publishes on the site is extremely current and often extremely interesting.
Heather was absolutely right.
The stuff that caught my eye the most were Luke’s dealings with infamous politico-porn princess Mary Carey. Now, the first time I had every heard of Carey was back when she started running against Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor of California. Obviously her media attention waned a bit after she lost, but she returned to the spotlight when her and her boss attended a big Republican soirée last summer.
Shortly after the whole GOP media coverage, Mary Carey was interviewed on the Daily Show. When she was interviewed, she said the most ridiculous stuff on camera… dumb blonde, indeed. The thing that stood out in my mind was when she was saying how she doesn’t do anal because she has a problem with flatulence… then, not a moment later, she actually farts on television. With a performance like that, there has to be something wrong with this girl.
Well, today when I was checking out luckisback.com I was reading quotes from telephone conversations she’s had recently with Luke. Here’s a few of my favorites:
[About people saying she has a drug habit] “People just say that. I’m an alcoholic. I openly admit it. So many girls in the business want to deny that they drink or do drugs. I say, drinking and doing drugs is still better than getting cum on your face for the world to see. You know why I drink.”
[About presenting at the AVN Awards] “It was at the end of the show. I was so drunk, I can’t remember presenting. I have severe blackouts. Everyone around me thinks I’m totally functional. That’s why a lot of people see me and I can’t remember them because I was drunk.”
[About XXXChurch and their new show with VH1] “When I signed up to do the TV show, I was in a depressed state. I thought, ‘I need to become Christian.’ I actually did get baptized and I was a born-again Christian for two weeks. No porno. No nothing. But it was so not fun. Being totally Christian at 25 is so not fun. I’m not ready to give up drinking and showing my boobs and having sex with a lot of people.”
As much as I laugh at this, I also have to feel sorry for her. She definitely seems to have a problem and I wouldn’t wish this sort of thing on anyone. I truly hope that she can work it out. Judging from the fact that she went back to porn after her short two-week XXXChurch stint, I guess quitting the business cold turkey just isn’t going to work for her. If she really wants to be a Christian, though, I think it would be healthier for her to start going to church with JC’s Girls instead of “boring” herself by leaving the industry too… sometimes it’s better to wean ourselves away from things.
Whether she keeps making porn or not, one thing is for sure… she’s been working hard to change her physical image by losing weight and getting a boob job. She may have left Kick Ass due to a ‘natural boobs only’ requirement, but I have no doubt she will remain both a porn and media phenomena.
