She Ain’t No Doctor Ruth…
Who needs Doctor Ruth when you’ve got a sexy porn star to give you advice on your sex life? Well, okay… so the last thing most people need is sex advice from a porn star, but at least it would make for a more interesting show on television than Oprah [shudder].
Kim Holland, a Dutch porn star, started such a show called “Op z’n Hollands” (The Dutch Way), but it was unfortunately cancelled after the first two episodes aired. Although the Dutch have liberal attitudes towards drugs and sex, the show was deemed “unsuitable for a family channel.” Fair enough… but then, why did they choose to air the show in the first place? Did someone accept the show without watching it?
Seriously, if you want to broadcast anything you have to make sure it’s either on the right channel or at the right time… and I don’t only mean that with regards to adult-related content. I wouldn’t want to tune into SexTV and find a family program like 7th Heaven, so why should a sex show be aired on a family channel in the first place. The future is all about niches, ladies and gentlemen.
Holland has said that she hopes her show will get picked up by another channel in the Netherlands.
