I feel very strongly about someones will to provide. If someone or some group doesn't like a business or establishment, then don't go. I for one dont like going to strip clubs as I dont see the appeal to spend money on looking at girls while I have a sexy wife at home, and more so I can use the money spent on that for any possession that I could want. But the point I am making is that I just don't go to these places. I surely don't waste time trying to organize a way to shut it down. My view is that the owner is making money for his family and the workers are all making money to pay their way through college or to support their family as well. At least you know when you go to a strip club that you can't touch and you will only be abke to look at them, at least they are honest when you go into one of these clubs, can you say that about attoney's, car salesmen, politicians, etc? All of these people lie to benefit their cause or their wallets, all in the meantime stating their disgust and dis-approval for others and business's that they don't like. In my opinion the disgust lies within themselves and would state to the church, although I love god and hope one day to be sitting next to him after I shall pass, I don't feel that a business such as a gentleman's club is the face of the devil or an unsafe establishment, it is a way for myself to support my family without lies, without scamming, and without shoving drugs down poeple's mouth. That if they have such a problem with one of these clubs to just not go to one and to concentrate on their priests who certainly have more of a disgusting reputation than a club that has woman for viewing pleasure. At least the strippers don't rape little girls or anything like that, and the people that go to a strip club certainly will have a normal childhood and adulthood, can you say the same thing for the children that were sexually abused by priests that they trust?

Kitka, for some reason, at the end of your comment, I felt like screaming out "G.I.Joe!"

In conjunction with Spiklos' story, I had the same problem with Jehova's witnesses. My dad works with a Witness, who brings him their magazine "Awake!". My dad reads it for fun, since my dad is Catholic, and a beleiver in God. I've browsed through them occasionnaly out of curiosity. Almost like a button that reads DON'T PUSH.

Last time I saw Witnesses at our door, I was blunt: "I don't believe in God. I tolerate all religions, and appreciate when they don't try to force their religion down my throat."

Score 1 point for Jorge... but they wouldn't give up THAT easily.

"OK, we understand. But have we read our magazine 'Awake!'? The articles aren't all about God"

"No, they don't. But they still have a religious overtone to them."

I guess I've been brand non-convertible, because they haven't come back since. YAY!!!

According to their religious beliefs, I am going to hell for various reasons, and most probably so are you all. You know what? Considering the company I would keep 'down there' compared with the people who are going 'up there', let's just say I will welcome you all with open arms and party hats!!! As usual, BYOB!!!

I think we should scheme to use their money. Let's set up strip joints and adult bookstores on the assumtion they'll offer us money. When they do we use that to build an even bigger raunchier bookstore and so on. Tie up their money so they can't spend it on bible thumping politicians. Well, this does take someone with capital to throw around...but I find the idea amusing.

On an easier to impliment note-think of the people trying to convert you as free labor. Tell them that you don't believe in god and your soul is surely going to hell. You'd be happy to let them try to convert you if, and ONLY if, they do some work for you WHILE preaching.

Let them preach all they want while washing your car, cleaning your house, doing your laundry. I know some friends who got some Mormons to help build their house using this method. If they're going to bug you may as well put them to work!

wow drafted I feel special. and as any good soldier does he brings special news to the commander. http://rwor.org/s/evolution_e.htm its lots of reading, but it attacks christian fundamentalists a lot, and shows how the "tactics" they use so we can be aware of what they are doing. although most of the topic is on evolution, its still useful

I'm so glad I have such a strong anti-Christian following that I can just sit back and watch them defend me from the attacks of fundies.

Just as El Space Monkey has been dubbed General Jorge of the Kitka Militia, Spiklos has just been drafted... welcome to the Kitka Militia, Private Spiklos!

Remember soldiers, we already know that what the fundies are doing is wrong... and knowing is half the battle!

WOW! Rainer that's hilarious, and space monkey reminded me of a story about mormans.

it's kind of long so I'll put it in point form.

-I was walking my dog, and she stopped at a corner and lied down. there was no one in site.
-I go to try and get her to get up and keep walking, only to look up at two mormons who came out of nowhere
-they ask if I want to talk about god, I politely say no
-they continue to talk to me about god
-they ask me if I would like a bible
-I tell them if they give me a bible I will burn it in front of them
-they leave with a disgusted look on their faces

kind of sad how I have to be mean to these guys to get themto leave me alone whilst I'm walking my dog, let alone have them coming to my house every year to try and convert me.

which brings me to my next point about their trickery in talking about god

-I was at home when this lovely looking lady came and knocked on the door.
-she asked me if I cared about the environment (which I do)
-then proceeded to talk about god, I never even seen it coming

Hey bobster, if YOU don't like it, change the channel.

It's all nice and dandy that you dissaprove of Ms. Kikta's anti-Christian comments... but what about the intolerant attitude hard-liner Christians have against ANYTHIG that doesn't fit in with their religious values? Aren't we allowed to dissaprove of that? Aren't we allowed to speak against something we find unfair?

If there's one thing I can't stand in this world is someone trying to enforce his/her religious beliefs on me. Some have tried. What I noticed is that these people have a very narrow-minded "black or white" view of the world. Sorry to burst their religious bubble, but it's not that simple. We all live in this greyish area , and we all have to make some effort to meet in the middle of it all.
