Dubya is my Homeboy
There are times when
my cousin surprises me…“The Bush administration is objecting to the creation of a dot-xxx domain, saying it has concerns about a virtual red-light district reserved exclusively for internet pornography.
Michael Gallagher, assistant secretary at the Commerce Department, has asked for a hold to be placed on the contract to run the new top-level domain until the dot-xxx suffix can receive further scrutiny. The domain was scheduled to receive final approval on Tuesday.”
What is happening here? It’s as if the interests groups that support Democrats and Republicans have switched teams again! Some of my readers may recall the post I made the other day about the Delaware Democrat who proposed a 25% tax on Internet pornography, isn’t it strange then to see the Republicans are against segregating porn sites to a district that will be easier to block from children? Well, perhaps Mary Carey’s visit to the White House has turned some heads as well as some opinions…
Capitalism is about money, not morals. Although the Republican Party has a born-again as a front man, the party is still lead by the interest of large companies with large profits. The porn industry alone earns between ten to fourteen billion dollars per year in the United States. With tits a paycheck that big, how could the Republicans deny special favors to the industry? After all, morality is relative to the times.
This issue has made Democrats into conservatives and Republicans into (dare I say it, Emily?) liberals. An issue like this just might swing the Christian vote in 2008 to support the Democrats… after all, Hilary is working the Christian vote by jumping on the whole Grand Theft Auto ‘scandal’. What a waste of a brain.

Great article. I am just sad I dont know how to reply properly, though, since I want to show my appreciation like many other.
